Reflection (Week 12)

This week’s class we were asked to present the 2nd draft of our video project. We’re getting near the EduTechnovation Day and I can’t wait for that day. 😀 After seeing all the draft video presented by our classmates, I realized that our video is the most serious one because it’s kind of like a documentary video. The other group have the funny elements in their video as for our video we don’t have any. Hahaha.

I hope that this video will give impact to every people that watch it and starts to make a change. Keeping the environment clean today is essential to ensure there will be a healthy environment for future generations. With technology and industry thriving, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep the environment clean. An unclean environment leads to a bad condition of a society, arrival of diseases and many more.

People most of the times throw litter and dust on the footpaths and roads instead of throwing it in dustbins. This is how slowly the litter accumulates and transforms into huge garbage. If this garbage is not cleaned, further it smells stink and welcomes the diseases and then people are affected by it. Thus, if we don’t keep our environment clean there would be many consequences or problems which will be faced by the society and people that live in that environment.

Reflection (Week 11)

‘Bitter Truth’

Director : Iqbal Syahmi

Cameraman : Nazeerah Zubair

Photographer : Dalveender Kaur

Scriptwriter : Khuzaimah Bahari

Editor : Iqbal Syahmi

Audio : Nik Zulaikha Yasmine

Objectives :

  1. To create awareness about the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of our environment.
  2. Our video will be emphasis more on students’ attitude who often leave their trash specifically often having their meals.
  3. Provide a solution regarding this problem.

Reason :

This topic might be cliché and some of us might think that it’s a very common issue/topic because everybody knew about it. But don’t you realize that this problem still remains unsolved? Why? Because we assume that it’s okay to have that kind of attitude and it has become a habit. So through this video, we’re trying to educate people so that they will realize the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of our environment.

Problem :

Our main problem is TRASH. How irresponsible people leaving their trash just like that without any sense of guilt and hoping that somebody will collect their trash and throw it to the dust bin.

What to Achieve?

We really hope that this video will affect the audience who watch it and starts to think about their responsibility.

Reflection (Week 10)

Assalamualaikum and a very good day to all. This week we were asked to present our new storyboard that we’ve made. Our group decide to make a video  about RECYCLE. This topic might be cliché or some of you might think that it’s a very common topic/issue because everybody knew about it. However, my group have our own reason why we chose this recycle issue to be in our video project.

  1. Everybody knows what is RECYCLE but not all of us apply it in our daily life.
  2. RECYCLE has been promoted all the time but we still faced with the problem of rubbish.
  3. Some of us didn’t realize the importance of recycling that can save our world for a long term.

That is why we came up with this issue. We trying to educate people through this video so that they will realize how important recycling is.

So this is our storyboard. Quite messy but basically this the storyline that we’ve planned.

Update : this is the old version of our storyboard. Actually, we changed our storyboard and also the title. I will explain more on the next post 🙂

Reflection (Week 9)

This week’s class was very informative and interesting. Dr. Fariza taught us about Photography. I could tell that she’s very professional in this field. 😀

I’ve google it just now about photography tips and techniques and I found this.

 1. High Speed Photography

Source :

One of the things that makes high speed photography most intriguing is that it freezes moments in time that are too fast for the naked eye to see. The trick to high speed photography is a tripod, a narrow aperture, a flash, and lots of patience.

2. Night Photography

Beautiful. Isn’t it? 😉

3. Motion Blur

Motion blur is the apparent streaking of rapidly moving objects in a still image or a sequence of images such as a movie or animation. It results when the image being recorded changes during the recording of a single exposure, either due to rapid movement or long exposure.

4. Long Exposure Photography

Long-exposure photography or time-exposure photography or slow shutter photography involves using a long-duration shutter speed to sharply capture the stationary elements of images while blurring, smearing, or obscuring the moving elements.

5. Water Drop Photography

Well, obviously to come out with those magnificent pictures need a good quality of camera :D. I remembered Dr. Fariza showed us the evolution of cameras.

This is the first camera ever made and it was huge. I can’t even imagine how people back take pictures with it and bring this thing along with them. 😀

Nowadays, people use a digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR) to take pictures as I showed to you earlier. A DSLR camera typically has a much bigger sensor than a point and shoot camera – a point and shoot typically has a sensor area that is only about 3-5% of a full frame DSLR sensor. Having a big sensor helps to get images that have much less noise (noise is the grain you typically see in a picture) and much better overall image quality.

This is the example of DSLR : Nikon D810. If only I could afford this 😥

I definitely wants to learn more about photography because I love taking pictures. I believe that photography allows people to communicate what is important to them, helps to preserve history, facilitates communication, enables us to become artists and moves people in ways that words sometimes cannot. 🙂

Reflection (Week 8)

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone. We’re back in class after mid semester break. Nothing to do much during the mid-sem break since I didn’t go back home like my other classmates. Luckily, I have my sister here live in Sepang so I went there and babysit her children. Yes, I’ve always being her babysitter.

So for this week’s class was handled by Dr.Khalid. We were taught on how to make a video by using Movie Maker. Thank God, I’ve always wanted to learn about making videos.

I’ve already download it for my laptop. Yeayyy 😀

Movie Maker was quite easy to handle for a beginner like me. During class, Dr. Khalid asked us to create our own video using Movie Maker. In the video, we should include at least 3 videos that we’ve downloaded from Youtube. I’ve decided to make a video on environment. I’m using Zainal Abidin’s song entitle ‘Hijau’ throughout this video. If we listen to the song, we’ll be realized that how close the relationship between the environment and humans.

Bumi yang tiada rimba, seumpama hamba, dia dicemar manusia, yang jahil ketawa.

This is the first verse of the song. It gives a clear message to us as human beings who have sense to think and act best in keeping the environmental heritage.

So I started the video by showing the greenery of nature that found in our country.

And then after that the video shows the beauty of our islands. Suddenly I feel like to go for a snorkeling. 😀

So this is the crucial part where I want to emphasize the reality in our world today or even here in Malaysia. Open burning, illegal logging, water and air pollution. These are all caused by irresponsible humans according to the song.

Towards the end of the video, I put a still pictures in the video on how we can save our environment.

Last but not least, at the end of the video it shows how wonderful our environment if its well preserved. A clean environment ensures the continual existence and survival of all life on Earth. Cleaning the environment reduces pollution, protects unique ecosystems, prevents the extinction of endangered species and conserves resources, such as water, land and air. A clean environment ensures the protection of biodiversity and ecosystems upon which human life and all other life on Earth depends.

I hope this video can bring awareness to the people about the importance of protecting the environment.

Here’s the URL link for the video that I’ve made. Enjoy 🙂

Reflection (Week 6)

Assalamualaikum and Hi everyone. So for week 6, Dr. Khalid was in charge to give us the lecture. Since we’re going to produce a video for our group project, Dr. Khalid’s lecture was about :

  1. Principle of Multimedia
  2. Audio Sound Editing
  3. Introduction To Video Production

For the audio sound editing, Dr. Khalid has introduced to all of us an audio editing software that we might use in our video production. But before we start to explore and use the Audacity, Dr. Khalid has introduced to us a new online web that we can use to convert Youtube video into MP3 which is

Simple as 1,2,3. All you have to do is just paste the link of the Youtube video and then will convert it into MP3 file. So easy right?

The most interesting part of the class is AUDACITY. I’ve never been using any editing audio software all this while and Dr. Khalid introduced to us this brand new software.

Audacity® is free, open source, cross-platform software for recording and editing sounds.

Yes ladies and gentlemen. It’s FREE !! As we are working on our video production, this software will definitely help us. Probably a video is not just only a video but it must have the audio also. If not how would it be attract viewers to watch it. Isn’t it? As we know that background music plays a wicked important role in a video. It’s a powerful way to drive the video forward and attract people to watch it. Usually, the songs that we hear on the radio have a pretty standard structure consisting of 4-5 parts (verse, pre-chorus, chorus, another verse, another chorus, bridge, and a massive double chorus). But normally we just pick some part of the song that is stylistically and emotionally fit the flow of the video. Audacity will be very useful because we need to cut some part of the song to be put in our video. This software also will help us to combine any audio/songs that we feel suits to our video so that the video will be more interesting to be watch.

This is the link for our sample audio that we’ve edited using Audacity. The audio was quite funny because we just mixed up using random songs so this it. Sample Audio

This is the Audacity that I’ve downloaded to my laptop. Quite hard for me as a beginner to use this editing software but I’ll try my best to explore it.

Till then, thank you 🙂
